Riptide's Story

July 7th, 2015, I, Jenna, invited a good friend of mine, Morgan Perry to come over to my house to hangout. Little did we know, our plans would change. We were sitting in my room, and I was listening to Morgan speak passionately about her feelings on relationship with Jesus. As she was talking, I had a vision of her speaking to a large crowd of people and those she was speaking to were literally encountering Jesus in her words. After this vision, I had one thought; Morgan and I should start a ministry.

For six months I felt like I had no where to go. I felt stuck. I didn't know how I could change the world, although I wanted to so badly. I prayed about it again and again, and the day I wasn't thinking about it, God revealed this to me. He blessed me when I least expected it.

After I got this vision, I was overflowing with so much excitement, that i just started screaming. Morgan frantically looked at me, trying to figure out what was wrong. I looked at her and said, "Let's start a ministry!" Her response was, "I was going to tell you the same thing!" I explained to her my vision I had, and I later learned she had the same vision for me the previous day. We sat in excitement with each other for a few minutes, and then we realized we had no idea what our ministry would be about. We had no answers. We had no idea how we would be supported. So we decided to go sit down at Starbucks and talk about it.

On our way to Starbucks, Morgan said that we should get together with our friends who have had a ministry for almost four years so we can get tips on how to get started. i agreed and just figured that we would meet up with them the upcoming week, but The Lord had something else in mind. When we got to Starbucks, around 8 o'clock at night, we sat down for just a few minutes. Then, to our surprise, our friends with the ministry walked right to our table and sat down with us. The Lord was working with his perfect timing. Morgan and i decided to talk to them about our ministry, and we talked for about two and a half hours. Leaving Starbucks, we still didn't have a lot of detailed answers, but we had our big idea in mind.

Four days later, after heavy praying, God revealed HIS name for HIS ministry. Riptide. The Lord's love will hit the nations like a riptide. His everlasting freedom will pull you in like a riptide. Its beautiful. Its powerful. Its capturing.
